The Emir of Qatar has officially opened the 2021 Qatar Economic Forum, which will focus on global leadership and strategies to support economic growth after the pandemic.
The three-day virtual event organized in cooperation with Bloomberg, with the slogan “Tomorrow’s New Vision”, will begin on Monday and will bring together more than 100 world leaders, diplomats, scholars and businessmen.
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said in his opening speech that the inaugural event “represents a springboard for a series of forums aimed at enriching the global economic dialogue and entering the next post-COVID-19 stage”.
Alsani said that while the country’s role in responding to the coronavirus pandemic is “indispensable,” it must also include the efforts of civil society and the business sector, and it must be coordinated on a global scale.
The Emir also called on world leaders to strengthen cooperation to achieve “fair and comprehensive distribution of vaccines, which will pave the way for the establishment of a comprehensive global social and economic system in line with the global sustainable development goals for the well-being and the stability of our people. “.
